Polsko-Szkocki Festiwal, zorganizowany przez Polish Association w Aberdeen udowadnia, że budowanie wspólnoty opartej na łączeniu bardzo różnorodnych kulturowo środowisk jest możliwe i stanowi remedium na osaczający nas brak tolerancji, zrozumienia, odmiennej kultury. Wspieramy integrację oraz wymiane międzykulturową Polski i Szkocji,budujemy lokalny patriotyzm. wywieramy wpływ na życie kulturalne polskiej społeczności, kreujemy i umacnianiamy pozytywny wizerunek polskiej spoleczności.

W 2022 to cztery bardzo różnorodne wydarzenia; wystawa outdoorowa ‘Loons & Quines o’ Torry’ w Abbey Place Park, ‘Polish-Scottish Ceilidh’ oraz koncerty ‘Żywiołaka’ i ‘Ørganek (support Barber Q)’.

This is the fifth Polish Scottish Mini Festival, which attracts more and more lovers of higher culture every year. The Polish-Scottish Mini Festival, organised by Polish Association in Aberdeen, proves that building a community based on connecting very diverse cultural environments is possible and it is a remedy for the lack of tolerance, understanding of a different culture. We support integration and Polish and Scottish cross-cultural exchange, what is more we build local patriotism. We make an impact on the cultural life of the Polish community, and we create and strengthen the positive image of the Polish community.

The festival will take place at the turn of January and February 2022, it's time to book these dates in the calendar!

In 2022 there are four very diverse events: an outdoor exhibition 'Loons & Quines o' Torry' at Abbey Place Park, 'Polish-Scottish Ceilidh' and concerts of 'Zywiolak' and 'Ørganek (support Barber Q)'.

Już od 16-go stycznia w Abbey Place Park będzie można obejrzeć wystawę ‘Loons & Quines o’ Torry’ w ‘polskiej’ dzielnicy na Torry. Ekspozycja inauguruje cykl o charakterze kampanii spolecznej, ktora prezentuje polską wspolnote jako aktywną zawodowo i kulturowo mieszkancow Aberdeen, integrujących się poprzez swoją działalność/życie z dzielnicą i miastem. Projekt ‘Loons & Quines o’ Torry’ ma na celu budowe wizerunku Polaków w Aberdeen. Autorką i pomysłodawczynią projektu jest Marta Surowiec, autorką zdjęć - Dorota Puszkiewicz.

From January 16th at Abbey Place Park, public members will be able to see the exhibition 'Loons & Quines o' Torry' in the 'Polish' district of Torry. The exhibition commences the cycle of social campaigns, which presents the Polish community as professionals and culturally active residents of Aberdeen, integrating through their activities /living with the area and the city. Project 'Loons & Quines o' Torry' aims to build the image of Poles in Aberdeen. Marta Surowiec is the author and originator of the project and Dorota Puszkiewicz is the author of the photos.

Wizytowka i najbardziej integracyjnym elementu festiwalu jest tradycyjne ‘Polish-Scottish Ceilidh’. 5-go lutego w sobote tradycyjne Polish Scottish Ceilidh na Pittodrie Stadium od 7pm. Urodziny szkockiego poety Roberta Burnsa uczcimy polskimi i szkockimi tańcami, a obok tradycyjnych szkockich potraw (haggis, neeps, tatties) zaserwujemy polskie tradycyjne dania. Dla gości do tańcaa zagra tradycyjnie ‘Danse McCabre’.

The first and the most integrative element of the festival is the traditional 'Polish-Scottish Ceilidh'. On Saturday 5th January the Polish Scottish Ceilidh at Pittodrie Stadium from 7pm. We will celebrate the birthday of the Scottish poet Robert Burns with Polish and Scottish dances, and along the traditional Scottish dishes (haggis, neeps, tatties) we will serve Polish traditional dishes. Barber Q' nasz lokalny talent spotka się i zagra przed gwiazdą. W grudniu 2021 ukazał się ich debiutancki singiel ‘Dynamite’, zespół gra od 2017 i ich koncerty cieszą. Się dużym zainteresowaniem. Wokalista Mateusz Psonak ma na swoim koncie udział w ‘The Voice of Poland’, w druż ynie Michała Szpaka.

On February 12th, the only such a gig in the UK. 'Organek' at Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, 7.30pm door (support Barber Q)!!! ØRGANEK is well recognised and widely awarded in Poland. The raw garage sound along with the literary talent of the leader allowed Organek to quickly achieve the widely commented success. He has platinum albums, awards of the music industry, he combines his literary talent with being a musician. In 2021, Organek released two new albums. ‘We will be saved by the love’ commemorating 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising 44' and the their latest: ‘For now I stand, for now I am look’ introducing a new and modern sound. Tomasz Organek has recently established his position as a writer. His debut novel 'The Theory of Mastering Fear' was published at the beginning of 2019 in Poland.

Barber Q' our local talent will meet and play before our star. In December 2021, they released their debut single 'Dynamite', the band has been playing since 2017 and their concerts are enjoyable. Getting a lot of interest. Vocalist Mateusz Psonak took part in 'The Voice of Poland', being part of Michał Szpak's team.
